This is an initiative to introduce computer numerical control (CNC) machining and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) concepts to enhance understanding of design for manufacturing. Students who go through the ME program are encouraged to learn more about different manufacturing methods, including the widespread use of machining. The goal of this training regimen is to provide students a structured, consistent approach to learning concepts of CAM and CNC that can be applied to various machines and software packages.
